1. Weather:
Generally clear over all Korea. Visibility 10 miles. Forecast:
Broken high and middle clouds with scattered low clouds. Visibility
10 miles. (FEAF) (SECRET)
2. Enemy Situation:
Groups of battalion and regimental size were reported at numerous
points in the IX and X Corps sectors. Near Kumhwa and Sohwa the enemy
made several probing attacks and enemy units northwest of Yonchon
continued to resist stubbornly. Enemy vehicular sightings numbered 1800,
1285 of which were southbound. (FECOM) (SECRET)
3. United Nations Situation:
GROUND:
a. General: UN units continued to patrol, probing enemy posi-
tions. X Corps elements advanced north. (FECOM) (SECRET)
b. I US Corps: Patrols from the 1st ROK Division, 29th British
Brigade, and 28th British Commonwealth Brigade patrolled across the
Imjin River without contact but observed small enemy groups. 1st US
Cavalry Division patrols continued to meet stubborn resistance from
groups of up to battalion strength in the area northwest of Yonchon and
Chorwon. South of Pyonggang 3d US Infantry Division patrols reported
one contact while east of Kumhwa 9th ROK Division units withdrew slightly
in the face of two enemy attacks. (FECOM) (SECRET)
