1. Weather:
Generally scattered cloud conditions over all Korea. Visibility
7 to 9 miles. Forecast: Broken high, middle, and low clouds in northern
Korea with overcast high and middle clouds in the southern sectors.
Visibility 6 miles. Temperatures 69 to 86 degrees F. (FEAF) (SECRET)
2. Enemy Situation:
Hostile groups maintained stubborn resistance to friendly patrols
and halted a UN advance east of Kumhwa in heavy fighting. Three light
probing attacks were made, two near Kumhwa and one near the east coast.
Light to moderate artillery fire was placed on friendly patrols in the west-
ern and east central sectors. An unidentified aircraft dropped 3 bombs
near Uijongbu. Friendly air sighted 2421 enemy vehicles, of which 1433
were southbound. (FECOM) (SECRET)
3. United Nations Situation:
GROUND:
a. General: Friendly forces continued aggressive patrolling,
encountering stubborn opposition to a limited attack east of Kumhwa, but
scattered resistance elsewhere. All hostile probing efforts were repulsed,
and UN patrols pushed to within 2 miles of Pyonggang in the western sector.
