1. Weather:
Broken to overcast low clouds over west and central Korea,
scattered clouds over east coast and south Korea. Visibility 10 miles,
lowering to 3 miles in haze and fog. Forecast: Broken to overcast
low clouds over west coast, broken middle clouds north of 38 degrees.
Scattered middle and low clouds increasing to broken along east coast.
Scattered thunderstorms. Visibility 10 miles. Temperatures 76 to 90
degrees F. (FEAF) (SECRET)
2. Enemy Situation:
Enemy resistance continued stubborn in the Yanggu-Sohwa-Kan-
song area and light elsewhere, except east of Kumahwa, where a rein-
forced battalion attacked but failed to penetrate friendly positions. Air
observed considerable hostile activity and supplies near Kumhwa and
Kumsong, and sighted 1, 186 enemy vehicles during the period, of which
338 were south-bound. (FECOM) (SECRET)
3. United Nations Situation:
GROUND
a. General: Friendly patrolling continued, with a recon-
naissance in force advancing nearly 3 miles ahead of positions north of
Yanggu. On the east coast, ROK units withdrew to their lines after
meeting heavy resistance west of Kansong. (FECOM) (SECRET)
