1. Weather:
Overcast haze and middle clouds with overcast low clouds along
the east coast and broken low clouds all other areas. Visibility good.
Forecast: No change. (FEAF) (SECRET)
2. Enemy Situation:
Hostile battalion-size groups stubbornly resisted UN advances
from dug-in positions in the east-central sector, north of Yanggu, and
forced some friendly withdrawals in several determined counterattacks.
Enemy groups also probed the Kumhwa area and offered light to moder-
ate resistance elsewhere. Air sighted 3, 420 enemy vehicles, of which
1, 928 were moving south. An agent reported 30 Russian heavy tanks
with white flags and 20 trucks nine miles northwest of Kaesong on 10

3. United Nations Situation:
GROUND:
a. General: UN forces continued limited attacks in the area
from the Pukhan River east to the vicinity of Sohwa and gained up to two
miles in heavy fighting north of Yanggu. Aggressive patrolling continued
