4. j. On 7 September, the Bomber Command dispatched 1 aircraft which bombed a target of last resort at Chinnampo. (FEAF) (SECRET) k. FEAF claims of losses inflicted on the enemy include: Personnel Casualties: 131 Destroyed Damaged Vehicles 260 607 Occupied Buildings 22 38 Railroad cars 2 - Bridges 2 8 Tanks 1 1 (FEAF) (SECRET) 1. The following additional information has been received regarding the encounter between Meteors and MIG-15's on 5 September. A flight of 8 Meteors flying south of the Yalu River observed 5 MIG-15's over Manchuria approximately 8 miles west of Sinuiju, A few moments later, at 1635(KT), 12 MIG-15's passed over the Meteors in the Sinuiju area. The friendly flight attacked, after which the MIG's, in two-ship elements turned and made one pass each. White smoke was seen coming from one MIG after the attack, although no claim has been made pending assessment of combat film. One Meteor received major damage to its tail section during the encounter, which lasted approximately 5 minutes. The MIG pilots displayed good combat discipline. All enemy aircraft had red noses and stars on wings. (FEAF) (SECRET) m. At 0710(KT) on 5 September, approximately 30 miles east of Kaesong, an enemy aircraft believed to have been a Yak-9 attacked a T-6. No damage was reported.
