1. On 19 September, F-84's on interdiction salvoed their bombs
when enemy aircraft were encountered at Ponghang-ni, Sangsim-ni (both
south of Sinanju), and Cheil-li (south of Sunchon). No claims or losses
resulted from these engagements. Also at Sainjang (south of Sunchon) bombs
were salvoed when 6 MIG's were encountered. One MIG-15 was destroyed by
F-84's in this encounter. Again at wolbong-ni (Southeast of Sinanju) bombs
were salvoed by F-84's when 24 MIG's were encountered. No claims or
losses were reported. (FEAF) (SECRET)
m. On the same date, 7 F-84's, escorting a photo reconnaissance
aircraft, intercepted 16 MIG-15's in the area northeast of Chongju. Claims
for this encounter are 1 MIG damaged. (FEAF) (SECRET)
n. Twenty-Four F-84's on counter air on the same day sighted
14 MIG-15's over Kunu-ri but could not close. (FEAF) (SECRET)
O. In the area north of Chongju, 37 F-86's during several en-
counters engaged 40 MIG-15's. Four MIG's were damaged, with no damage
to friendly aircraft reported in these encounters. (FEAF) (SECRET)
