Weather: On 4 December, visibility was good, and scattered low clouds, with broken high and middle clouds, prevailed over all Korea. Forecast: Scattered cloud conditions becoming broken to overcast by mid-day Visibility in the morning will be restricted in haze. Maximum battle area temperature 52; minimum 30. (FEAF) (SECRET) 2. Enemy Situation: Activity continued light across the front with scattered patrol clashes and light probing attacks against UN positions. The heaviest activity was in the east-central sector, northeast of Yanggu, where five enemy probing attacks were made against 7th US Infantry Division positions; the largest attack was in company strength. An unidentified aircraft dropped two bombs on UN positions in the western sector, 7 miles northwest of Yonchon, at 031050 (KT). Three unidentified aircraft, believed to be MIG-15's, strated friendly positions seven miles west of Chorwon at 031050 (KT). The adjusted total of vehicle sightings for 2-3 December is 3, 222, of which 2, 259 were southbound. (FECOM) (SECRET) 3. United Nations Situation: ARMY: a. General: UN forces continued to patrol and engaged scattered enemy groups in patrol clashes, All enemy probing attacks were repulsed. (FECOM) (SECRET) b. I US Corps: A patrol from the 1st ROK Division forced 2 enemy squads to withdraw in the area 10 miles north of Munsan. Three miles to the northeast of this engagement, a squad-strength probing attack was repulsed by an outpost of the 1st British Commonwealth Division. The 3rd US and 9th ROK Divisions reported no enemy contact in their sectors. (FECOM) (SECRET) C. IX US Corps: Elements of the 25th US Infantry Division patrolled the division sector without contact.
