1. Weather:
Four December was generally clear. Ground fog reduced visibility
during the early morning hours of 5 December. Temperatures: 25 to 45
degrees. Next 24-hour period weather is forecast to be generally clear.

2. Enemy Situation:
Enemy groups continued to make light probing attacks against UN posi-
tions and to engage UN patrols in scattered clashes across the front. Light
to moderate mortar and artillery fire fell on Eighth Army positions. In the
enemy order of battle, the 50th and 38th CCF Armies are now accepted in
northwest Korea. The 63₫ CCF Army is now in the line in the western sec-
tor, with one Division in contact north of Munsan, The 65th CCF Army has
displaced southward to the area south of Panmunjom. The I North Korean
Corps has moved eastward to the area least of Hoeyang, The 17th and 18th
CCF Independent Security Divisions are believed to be in the area west and
northwest of Kumchon on rear area security missions. The adjusted total
of vehicle sightings for 3-4 December is 3, 712, of which 23 660 were south-

3. United Nations Situation:
ARMY:
a. General; UN forces continued to engage squad- to company-
size enemy groups in scattered patrol clashes and repulsed light enemy prob-
ing attacks across the front. (FECOM) (SECRET)
b. I US Corps: A patrol from the 1st ROK Division engaged an
enemy company eight miles east of Kaesong and forced it to withdraw. Other
company-size hostile groups were observed in the area. Outpost elements
of the 1st British Commonwealth Division received an attack by 50 enemy in
the area 14 miles west of Yonchon and withdrew to the MLR. Two hundred
