Weather: Clear over all of Korea with broken high clouds, after frontal passage, becoming high scattered clouds. Maximum battle area temperature 35 degrees, minimum 18 degrees. Forecast: A cold front is expected to move through Korea early on the 9th. Broken low clouds along Northwest Coast will become multilayered; ceilings will lower to 1,000 feet. Visibility 1 to 3 miles in snow. Maximum battle area temperature 35 degrees, minimum 20 degrees. (FEAF) (SECRET) 2. Enemy Situation: Enemy ground activity was confined to patrol intercepts. Moderate artillery and mortar fire was directed against UN troops from the Yanggu road eastward to the coast. Nine enemy armored vehicles were observed in the vicinity of Kosong. An unidentified single-engine aircraft strafed rear areas of the 40th US Division. The adjusted total of vehicle sightings for 6-7 February is 290, of which 170 were southbound. (FECOM) (SECRET) 3. United Nations Situation: ARMY: a. General: UN patrols continued to encounter small-size enemy groups across the front. The 8th ROK Division of Task Force Paik moved to a new location in the vicinity of Uijongbu. The last echelon of the 24th US Division arrived in Yokohama on 7 February. The 24th Division was relieved from the Eighth Army and attached to the XVI US Corps on this date.
