1. Weather:
Clear over Korea until early morning when low clouds formed along
the west coast, and scattered low and middle clouds formed on the least
coast. Visibility was 1 to 5 miles in haze and occasional snow showers.
Battle area temperatures ranged from 12 to 30 degrees. (FEAF) (SECRET)
2. Enemy Situation:
Enemy groups up to platoon strength intercepted UN patrols across the
front. Squad- to platoon-size groups probed UN outpost positions. An
enemy company attacked friendly positions least of the Pukhan River. Moder-
ate artillery fire fell on several sectors of the front. An unidentified aircraft
dropped five 100-lb. bombs on UN positions in the east-central sector. The
adjusted total of vehicle sightings for 18-19 February is 3, 130, of which,
2,098 were southbound. (FECOM) (SECRET)
3. United Nations Situation:
ARMY:
a. General: Friendly forces continued patrolling actions across
the front. UN outposts reported numerous probes by enemy groups from
squad to platoon strength, most of which were repulsed. The heaviest attack,
in company-strength, was made against outpost positions of the 3d ROK Divi-
sion east of the Pukhan River. Elements of the 9th Regiment of the 2d US
Division relieved the Thailand Battalion on position. The 25th US Division
(minus) was relieved from attachment to the IX US Corps and attached in place
to the X US Corps effective 200001 (KT). (FECOM) (SECRET)
