Weather: Consists of broken clouds to overcast with low ceilings and snow showers. Maximum battle area temperature 20 degrees; minimum 35 degrees. Forecast: Scattered low clouds with restricted visibility in fog and haze. Maximum tem- perature 30 degrees; minimum 10 degrees. (FEAF) (SECRET) 2. Enemy Situation: With the exception of a single probing attack by two enemy platoons in the east-central sector, enemy activity was confined to patrol intercepts. A num- ber of enemy self-propelled guns were observed about 10 miles west of Chorwon. Light artillery fire was directed against UN forces on the central and east- central fronts. There were no enemy vehicles sighted during the period 25-26 February, owing to poor weather. (FECOM) (SECRET) 3. United Nations Situation: ARMY: a. General: UN forces continued to patrol across the front. The Philippine Battalion, attached to the 3d US Division, relieved the Belgian Battalion in positions northwest of Yonchon. The 31st Regiment and the Colombian Battalion reverted to control of the 7th US Division on 26 February and closed in the Chunchon area. (FECOM) (SECRET) b. I US Corps: A patrol of the 1st ROK Division engaged an enemy squad northeast of Panmunjom. The 1st British Commonwealth and 3d US Divisions reported no enemy contact in their zones. The Philippine Battalion, attached to the 3d US Division, relieved the Belgian Battalion in positions northwest of Yonchon. A patrol of the 45th US Division reported an encounter with an enemy squad west of Chorwon, A reconnaissance patrol about 10 miles west of Chorwon observed an enemy tank, a camouflaged artillery piece, 7 self-propelled guns, and 100 enemy. There was no contact with the enemy in the 9th ROK Division sector. (FECOM) (SECRET)
