Weather: Broken high clouds over all Korea. Visibility unrestricted. Maxi- mum battle area temperature 30 degrees, minimum 10 degrees. Fore- cast: Broken clouds to overcast with a 6, 000 to 8, ,000 foot ceiling, visi- bility unrestricted. Maximum battle area temperature 30 degrees, mini- mum 10 degrees. (FEAF) (SECRET) 2. Enemy Situation: Enemy forces in groups of squad and undetermined strength lightly opposed United Nations patrol operations in scattered clashes across the front. Moderate mortar and artillery fire was received in the east-central sector. The adjusted total of vehicle sightings for 2-3 March is 339g of which 318 were southbound. (FECOM) (SECRET) 3. United Nations Situation: ARMY: a. General: UN forces continued patrol operations in all sectors, (FECOM) (SECRET) b. I US Corps: A patrol of the 1st British Commonwealth Division, 13 miles north-northeast of Munsan, was engaged for 2 1/2 hours by an undetermined number of enemy in the afternoon of 3 March. A delayed report from the 1st ROK Division states that a platoon-size probing attack against an OP 7 1/2 miles south of Panmunjom was repulsed during the early evening of 2 March. Otherwise, there was no ground con- tact in this Division sector during this period. In the 1st British Common- wealth, 3d US, and 45th US Division sectors, light scattered patrol clashes with up to squad-size enemy groups, were reported. There was no ground contact reported in the 9th ROK Division sector. (FECOM) (SECRET)
