1. Weather:
Scattered low and high clouds. Visibility unrestricted. Maximum
battle area temperature 45 degrees, minimum 20 degrees. Forecast: Broken
high and middle clouds. Visibility unrestricted. Maximum battle area temper
ature 42 degrees, minimum 28 degrees. (FEAF) (SECRET)
2. Enemy Situation:
Enemy activity across the front was characterized by scattered patrol
intercepts. One small-scale probing attack was launched in the west-central
sector. Light mortar and artillery fire was directed against several UN
divisions. The adjusted total of vehicle sightings for 10-11 March is 217, of
which 117 were southbound. (FECOM) (SECRET)
3. United Nations Situation:
ARMY:
a. General: UN forces continued to patrol across the front, encountering
scattered enemy groups of squad to platoon strength. (FECOM) (SECRET)
b. I US Corps: A patrol of the 1st ROK Division engage an enemy
squad northeast of Panmunjom. There was no contact with the enemy in the 1st
British Commonwealth and 3d US Division sectors. Two hundred twenty-seven
rounds of mortar and artillery fire fell in the 1st British Commonwealth Division
sector. The 45th US Division reported a patrol contact with an enemy platoon.
Elements of the 9th ROK Division repulsed an enemy probe of undetermined
strength northeast of Chorwon. (FECOM) (SECRET)
