According to confidential D=851, from Tokyo, December 20, 1950, Bache & Company were reportedly investing money in Daiichi Bussan Company, Tokyo, one of the successors of Mitsui Bussan Kaisha, which was one of the largest, most famous, and oldest trading companies in Japan. Daiichi Bussan Kaisha, Ltd. was reported to be considering the ap- pointment of Bache & Company as their U. S. representatives, until exchange restrictions eased enough to allow them to establish a branch in America. *Frank T. Ryan is reported by Dun and Bradstreet dated November 10, 1950, on World Commerce Corpo, to be president of World Commerce Corp. and John J. Ryan & Sons, Inc., wholesalers of cotton and rayons. DISNET
