Dear J.C. -
H.S. COURSE
I appreciated very much your letter of July
twenty-second which just reached me yesterday.
I hope you are entirely well and that you will
not have to be shot at any more. There is a
possibility that the big battleship you are on
will be used for the surrender although that
matter is entirely in the hands of the Allied
Commander in Chief.
I have 8 little present for you when you get
back home which came from Potsdam. I hope it
won't be so long now until you do get back
home.
Always glad to hear from you.
Sincerely yours,
Uncle Harry
Harry came to see me in Berlin. He's now at home for a
leave.
