Dear Harry:
It was nice to get your note of August fifth.
I saw your picture in the paper with your arm
around the pony - it was a very good picture.
Aunt Mary sent it to me.
I imagine Gilbert will get plenty of work out
of you before you leave. Be sure and enjoy
yourself because there is no telling what is
ahead of you with the 44th Division. Although
I am doing everything I possibly can to shorten
the war, you never can tell what will happen.
Tell your mother and dad hello for me and give
Gilbert and Martha Ann my very best wishes.
Sincerely yours,
Uncle Harry
