    "ocrText": "-2-\nRochester\nThird, we need ore hospitals and more doctors in nearly\nevery area in the country.\nFourth, we should have a system of insurance to cover the\ncost of medical care.\nFifth, we need insurance which will protect workers against\nloss of earnings during illness.\nOf course, I know that Federal laws to help the five ob-\njectives are not enough. State and local governments, medical\nschools and hospitals, doctors and civic groups, will all\nhave to work together to accomplish the purpose I have in mind.\nI know that this country can provide better health care\nfor the American people. I want to see thet every man, woman\nand child on a day not too far off will be able to get the kind\nof care provided here in Rochester.\nThe people who can afford better health will make greater\nprosperity and a strong Nation. It is our responsibility to\nlead the world to a lasting peace. We need all our health and\nall our strength to reach that goal. And I.want you to help\nme reach that goal by sending the men to Congress who believe\nin the welfare of the people as a whole, and who are not just\ninterested in some special interest program.\nThis 80th Congress is a shining example of how the Republi-\ncans work, That Congress legislated absolutely for the special\ninterests, and the people, well, I can't say the word I would\nlike to say to what they did to the people.\nDon't do that again. If you send the 80th Congress back\nwith that same old geng in control, you will have an 81st\nCongress with exactly the same program that the 80th Cangress had.\nNow, do your duty on election day. Get out and show your\ninterest in the Government. You are the Government when you\nexercise the right to vote.\nIf enough of you vote, I am just as certain as I stand here\nthat we will have a Democratic President in the White House and\nwe will have a Democratic Congress in the 81st Congress.\n######"
