BROCKTON, MASS. 10-28-48 BARRY B.S. S ARCHIVES AND RECORDS TRUMAN TOTAL Thank you for your fine reception. It is a great pleasure to be here in Brockton. I have been hearing about Brockton's shoes for a great many years. Your record of production for shoes of the armed forces during the war was nearly unbelievable, I think you turned out eighteen million pairs of shoes for the Army, the Navy, and the Air Force. That's a wonderful record. Prices are now so high that many people in the country are finding it difficult to buy the necessities of life, like good shoes. I think you all know who is to blame for these high prices.
