And then look at the sorry ecord\nof how the Republicans sold out to the lobbies in the last Congress. That\nwas a blessing in disguise, that we had a taste of what he Republicans did\"\nto you cood péople who didn't vote in 1946. That was a blessing in disguise,\nI say, because I think our country has awakened to the fact that/the Democratic\nParty, under Democratic leadership, is working for the welfare of all the\npeople, and not just a few.\nYou see, I am anxious that you know the facts. You don't suppose I\nwould go £ rom one end of the United States to the other, backwards and for-\nwards and crossways, informing the people of whatthe situation is, if I\ndidn't think it was in your interest to do that. This is about the 270th\nor 280th appearance I have made before such public audiences -- from Maine to\nCalifornia, from Washington to Florida. I want to say to you that this\nsituation right here in Brockton is the result of the policies of the Repub-\nlican Party.\nNow, if you believe in honest government, if you believe in the welfare\nof the people as a whole, you won't stay at home this time.\nGO to the polls and elect a Democratic Governor and a Democratic\nCon-ressman from this District, and elect the whole Democratic ticket --\nand then you will be safe, and your President won't be troubled with the\nhousing shortage -- he will still stay in the White Housefor another four\nyears.\n#####"
