The Democrats changed that.
In Nineteen Thirty-five, we passed the Social Security Act.
Time and again in the last two years
I urged the 80th Do-Nothing Congress to improve and extend
Social Security coverage.
The Republicans were against Social Security
when it was passed, and they are trying to cripple it now.
Instead of extending it, this summer they took Social Security
away from nearly a million workers'
