in the national, state and local governments would not exist."
I have always been proud of our civil servants.
The Democratic Party knows that civil servants are
also people - people with families and houses and problems
like the rest of us.
As all of you know only too well, the civil servants
of this country - like all people with fixed incomes -
are being squeezed between their fixed salaries and
Republican high prices.
The Democratic Party has always believed in
good wages for civil servants, and especially for school-teachers.
