Thank you very much for this warm Illinois
reception.
I have found that this is the kind of reception
I always get in Illinois.
I had a fine automobile drive down in the
Southern part of the State about a month ago.
I went through a great many towns and made a speech at Carbondale.
Then, a week or so later, I came through the State again.
I made a number of talks, and a big speech one night
at Springfield, where I told just what the position of the
Democratic and Republican parties is,
with respect to agriculture and the American farmer.
