-3- #1413, August 20, 4 p.m., from Chungking via Arny
Goncralissino and Dr. Wong informed us Ancrica's
post V-J policy. The Gencralissino then asked Genoral
Wedencycr to meet with the Hinister of War, General Chen
on the norning of August 20 to mako plans for the admin-
istration of the American post V-J policy. The General-
issimo requested me to moot with Hinister Wong Wen-Ho.o
who would inform me fully on the Amorican policy and
with whon I could discuss the details. Un to that time
noither the Amorican military ostablishment nor the
American Embassy had any word whatovor in rogard to
the American policy on the various subjects above indi-
cated for post V-J. At 11 a.m. todny, through the
courtesy of the FEA representativos hord, ve wore showm
circular No. 18 from Crowloy, FEA, signed by Byrnos,
sont through Army radio and dolivored to FEis this morn-
ing. The mossage stated in part: "Policy docisions ro-
garding our post-war nctivitics and particularly Lend-
Lease are now boing detornined". Telegran No. 1275,
August 18, 3 p.m.
