CHAPTER VII An International Court of Justice: The Delegation of Iran declares itself in favor of the obligatory jurisdiction of the International Court of Justice in the terms proposed by the Committee of Jurists of the United Nations convened in Washington, D. C. CHAPTER VIII Arrangements for the Maintenance of International Peace and Security Including Prevention and Suppression of Aggression: Section A. Pacific Settlement of Disputes. Add a second sentence to paragraph 4 as follows: "Any threat to the territorial integrity or independence of a Member State constitutes a threat to the maintenance of peace and international security." CHAPTER IX Arrangements for International Economic and Social Cooperation Section B. Substitute for Section B the following: "The Economic and Social Council should consist of represent- atives of eighteen members of the Organization. The States to be represented for this purpose should bo elected by the General Assembly for a term of three years. Six of them should retire each year, and should not be immodiately eligible for reelection. At the first election, six should be chosen for a term of one year, six for a term or two years, and six for a term of three years " CHAPTER XII Transitional Arrangements A to ASCHIVESAND TRATIONAL SERVICE Add the following paragraphs: converted "Any international treaty or undertaking concluded by a member of the Organization should be registered immediately by the Secretariat and published by it as soon as possible." "A Committee of qualified Jurists should be established to draw up a code of International Law. "! 503 - 3- -
