You have given me the "United
States" as my subject. It is
a great theme to follow - in
fact there are two dozen lectures
which could be given on that
subject - religion, Government
politics, world affairs; in fact
almost anything may be discussed.
I have been thinking what a wonder-
ful part Old Ireland played in
the creation of the great Re-
public. I have been thinking of
the trials and oppression of that
beautiful land, and how it's in-
habitants have been scattered to
France,Germany,Spain,Holland,
and the United States, and still
Ireland is great Ireland - - a
land of the most lovable, irascible
belligerent,Kindly people on
earth.
Moses blessed the first Celtic
expedition to Ireland, so the
Irish say - - and I believe them.
