REBORDS SERVICE* 3
Dear Mr. Lombard:
In the absence of Senator Truman, we wish to thank you
for yours of the Sixteenth, and we are enclosing here-
with a copy of letter we wrote Mr. J. S. Arnold on the
Eighteenth, regarding a spesking engagement for the
Senator, which is self-explanatory
We suggest inasmuch as Senator Truman will not be back
for some time it might be better for you to write Con-
gressman Lea direct if you dont want to wait until the
Senator teturns.
Sincerely,
VRM:MLD
V. R. Messall, Secretary
encl.
Harry S. Truman
