Trum Harry, S. (President) Wallace H. Graham, M. D. CHIEF COMPLAINT: This patient was admitted to Research Hos- pital complaining of rather continuous cramping and distress, throughout the entire abdomen, and diarrhea, which had been very distressing and continually present for four days prior to admission to the hospital. The majority of his pain was over the entire colon, however, it did center mostly in the left lower quadrant of the abdomen. The only other complaint is that he has rather continuous dizziness and it is difficult for him to maintain his equilibrium and this is believed to be on an tteriosclerotic basis, however, at this time we are reluctant to proceed with an arteriography or to any great extent of any questionable or hazardous measures for specific diagnostic procedure at the present time. His general history is that he wears corrective lens for a very marked and rather serious axis deviation, which is constantly vacillating and he wears one set of lens for hyper- opia and the other set of lens for myopia. He has minimal tinnitis and only occasionally, There is an increasing deafness and on an otosclerotic basis and he has almost daily minimal headaches which always comes from long reading. He usually will read at times three and four books a day, besides all of the tremendous volumes of letters that he receives and dictates. His general history is otherwise essentially normal for that of an 82 year old man. FAMILY HISTORY: Mother died following a fracture of the hip age 95, which was secondary to an overwhelming infection and basilar pneumonitis, also with generalized arteriosclerosis and arteriosclerotio heart disease. Father died following an injury which he received when a tree fell upon him. He died in his thirties. There is no familial history noted of diabetes, tuberculosis, carcinoma, true cardiac disease, epilepsy or blood dyscrasia. MARITAL HISTORY: This patient is married and has one daughter. Previous diseases has been those of measles, mumps, whooping HARN
