The patient was awakened this morning with generalized abdominal cramps, being quite severe and a sudden onset of uncontrollable diarrhea at approximately 12:30 to 1:00 a.m. prior to his hospital admission. The cramping stopped. However, the diarrhea continued. He has not complained of any pain or distress and he believes that he has had a very slight temperature increase in the past 24 hours. He has been extremely dizzy. However, this has been present to some degree for the past 10 years. At the present time he has considerable nausea and he has had occasional vomiting. There is considerable borborygmus present as noted in taking the history. Hyperperistalsis obviously detectable.
