his office on 8/24/50 Senator Margaret Chase Smith, Cong. Robert Hale, and
Mrs. George Tibbetts, of Maine. They gave Mr. C. for transmission to Pres.
a pledge signed by citizens of Maine promising not to hoard during Korean
emergency. Mr. C. showed them Pres. 's office and was photographed receiving
pledge In pencil: Home Defenders of Freedom pledges are in large cardboard
box in Room 65.
