Hon. Harry S. Truman
President of the United States
The White House
Washington, D. C.
Dear Mr. President:
I am in favor of discontinuing Regulation W.
I am now repaying an installment loan, and my
monthly payments are higher under present regulations
than they would have been before the war.
With living costs so high, smaller payments
would help. Also feel that other people besides cash
buyers should be able to buy household appliances, etc.,
without making a large down payment as now required.
I hope you will eliminate this regulation
like other wartime regulations as it is unfair and is a
hardship to credit users.
Thank you.
Yours respectfully,
Charlie Eneman.
