IMMEDIATE RELEASE
JULY 11, 1947
General Wedemeyer will depart for China and Korea
immediately to make an appraisal of the overall situation in
that region. His mission will be fact-finding. He will be
accompanied by a small group of experts whose names appear below.
It is expected that General Wedemeyer will return within six
weeks to submit a report of his observations to the President.
