STATEMENT BY THE PRESIDENT
In accordance with the provisions of the Atomic Energy
Act of 1946, I am today appointing a General Advisory Committee
to advise the Atomic Energy Commission on "scientific and technical
matters relating to materials, production, and research and
development."

I am advised by the Atomic Energy Commission that it
will establish other committees to advise it on the problems and
the applications of atomic energy in specific fields, including,
among others, Biology and Medicine, Geology and Mining, and the
Social Sciences.
