Sir:
TRUMAN
I have the honor to tranmit herewith for the
NARA SECURITY
consideration of the Congress a supplemental estimate
of appropriation for the fiscal year 1949 in the amount
of $6,000,000 for the Department of the Army.
The details of the estimate, the necessity there-
for, and the reasons for its submission at this time are
set forth in the letter of the Director of the Bureau of
the Budget, transmitted herewith, in whose comments and
observations thereon I concur.
