PROGRAM FOR THE VISIT TO WASHINGTON OF THEIR ROYAL
HIGHNESSES THE PRINCESS ELIZABETH, DUCHESS OF
EDINBURGH, AND THE DUKE OF EDINBURGH
OCTOBER 1951
WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 31
4:00 p.m.
Their Royal Highnesses will arrive by Royal
Canadian Air Force plane from Montreal at
National Airport, Military Air Transport
Service terminal, where they will be met by
the President and Mrs. Truman. They will then
proceed to Blair House.
5:30-6:30 p.m.
A reception will be given in their honor by
the Committee of Washington Correspondents
(Press and Radio) at the Statler Hotel.
8:00 p.m.
The President and Mrs. Truman will give a
dinner in their honor at Blair House.
They will spend the night at Blair House.
THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 1
10:00 a.m.
Their Royal Highnesses will visit Mount Vernon
and Arlington National Cemetery.
12:00 noon
They will receive the Ambassadors of Commonwealth
countries and senior officers of their missions
at the Canadian Embassy.
1:15 p.m.
They will lunch privately at Blair House.
3:30-5:30 p.m.
A reception will be given by the British
Ambassador and Lady Franks for persons connected
with official and public life of the Capital
to meet Their Royal Highnesses.
8:00 p.m.
Their Royal Highnesses will give a dinner in
honor of the President and Mrs. Truman at the
Canadian Embassy.
They will spend the night at Blair House.
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 2
During the morning, Their Royal Highnesses will
visit points of interest in Washington,
1:00 p.m.
They will depart from Washington by air for
Montreal.
