April 15, 1946.
My dear Mrs. Truman:
The Pages of the United States Congress would
be happy to have you serve as their godmother during
your residence in the White House, as did Mrs. Roosevelt
while she was the First Lady.
The President has always been a great favorite
with the Pages and they would be more than delighted to
have you consent to serve in the above-mentioned capacity.
If it be possible for you to do this, Mrs. Truman,
may we have a favorite photograph of yourself to use in
our 1946 Congressional? Also, we would be glad to have
a short message from you to the boys which could be published
with your photograph.
We trust we may receive your acceptance very soon.
Sincerely yours,
Count L. tundall
Principal.
Mrs. Harry S. Truman,
The White House,
Washington, D. C.
