My dear Mrs. Weaver:
Mrs. Truman was interested in
learning of the plans for the Missouri
P.E.O. convention to be held April twenty-
third and twenty-fourth. She is very
sorry that she can not have the pleasure
of sending you the books of matches which
you request.
She has asked me to say that
the matches of which you write have no
photographs of the President on them-
just "President's House" and his Seal,
and they may only be used here at the
White House. She feels sure that you
AMOUNT . ARCHIVES AND RECORDS TRUMAN TERMS
will understand that much as she would
like to send the matches to you, it is
U.S.
GOVERNMENT
impossible for her to comply with your
request.
Very sincerely yours,
Mrs. J. M. Helm
