P.E.O. Chapter BV
McAllen, Texas
March 27, 1950
UNITED STATE INTERATION S.S.
My dear .Johns:
Mrs. Truman is always interested in
learning of the activities of the various
P.E.O. Chapters throughout the country. She
is sorry, however, that she cannot have the
pleasure of writing you of her activities
as the wife of the President. She receives
requests from all parts of the country for
such letters, and as she has had to decline
these requests in the past, she feels it
would be very unfair to send such a letter
to you after having refused to do this for
others.
Mrs. Truman hopes you will express
her regrets to your membership that it is
not possible to do this for your Chapter,
and she sands her good wishes to all the
members of your group.
Very sincerely yours,
Mrs. J. M. Helm
Secretary to Mrs. Truman
Mrs. H. F. Johns
