THE WHITE HOUSE
Subject: Draft Message to General Chung Hee Park,
Acting President of Korea
Attached is a draft message for the Acting President of
Korea, in response to his message of congratulations to Pres-
ident Kennedy on Commander Schirra's space flight which was
forwarded to the White House on October 8.
If the draft message is approved, the Department's Bureau
of Far Eastern Affairs will provide the Korean Embassy with
thetext and will simultaneously inform our Embassy at Seoul
by cable.
It will be explained to the Korean Embassy that we will
not object to publication of the President's message.
