Of note are several items with handwritten notations by the President.",

And we stand in need of all three.\nFor we also meet in an hour of change and\nchallenge, in a decade of hope and fear, in an\nage of both knowledge and ignorance. The greater\nour knowledge increases, the greater our ignorance\nunfolds. Despite the striking fact that most of the\nscientists the world has ever known are alive and\nworking today -- despite the fact that this Nation's\nown scientific manpower is doubling every 12\nyears, in a rate of growth more than three times\nthat of our population as a whole -- the vast\nstretches of the unknown and the unanswered\nand the unfinished still far outstrip our collective\ncomprehension."
