    "ocrText": "3\nSome time ago Jim Rose mentioned a Tom Dunkin of Atálanta,\nGeorgiahashaenexensiveile and numerous\nanti-Castro Florida Dunkin, jused photocraphs Atlanta of\nproups. who may have the\nJournal as cover, has phone number 758-8850. Rose recalled Dunkin\nin Miami at the DuPont Plaza Hotel with a very powerful, large\nLatin man who had considerable menace about him. Rose thinks that\nDunkin may have had CIA affiliation, that the Latin certainly did.\nHowever, he thinks Dunkin is a reasonable man and might be approached\nGoincidentaly, both Howard and Hall have acknowledged knowing\nDunkin. Howard told Rose the other day that the large Latin had\nrecently been in contact with him, although he did not give his\nname. He said the man contacted him about another invasion of\nHaiti. If you will recall, some 70 men were arrested in January\n1967; they supposedly were poised for an invasion of Haiti as\na\nspringboard to Cuba. The group was Roländo Masferrer's He just\nwas a diversion and another well-financed one is in the wind. roundup Howard\nwas sentenced to 4 years on the rap. But it looks like that\ntold Rose that he does not believe Masferrer was involved in the\nassassination (\"He's too smart for that\") but that certain persons\nin the ring around him could well have been.\nAs you will recall, Howard, Hall and Seymour brought up a\nKikki Masferrer, a dentist living in Miami but reportedly in Dallas\nat the time of the Odio visitation. He is a brother to Rolando.\nRose also states that Sergio Arcacha Smith was in Ybor City,\npart of Tampa, frequently.\nRose says that one Matthew I. Kenny, Jr. a UPI man in the\nMiami Herald Building who Tives in Coral Gables. is none UIA Latin\nwatcher. he nas Illes, photograpos, works with the anti-Castro groups\nand could be approached,\nThis memo has been somewhat discursive, but I wanted to make\nthe point that it is entirely possible that Oswald was indeed taken\ninto one of the Cuban groups in Florida. I think there is a fertile\nfield for investigation there and I would like to see JIM Rose go\nthere and try to exploit the numerous contacts. including Dunkin,\nthat he has in the area.\nThere is an interesting footnote. Prior to your investigation\nbecoming public knowledge, I received an anonymous letter from Detroi\nfrom a person obviously a Latin who had lived in Miami in the early\nsixties. The writer mentioned the bitterness of the Bastista exile\n\"militarists\" towards Castro, and said: \"the second man with Oswald\nwas a Cuban refugee officer who used to be in the Cuban Army under\nBatista. This is what I overheard when I was in Miami City several\nyears ago. No, Oswald was not alone. The Cuban officer took Oswald,\nused cheep rifle and gamve him the best one which the Cuban used on\nKennedy, yes, exchange of rifles. Oswald was pomised $88 but he\ndidn't got There is where Jack Ruby's \" Big money\nany. entrance, was\nK\npr omised by the oil magnets of Texas to some one... The letter\nis very consistent with what Nagell has said."
