Assent December 11, 1963 Mr. J. E. Curry Chief of Police Subject: Assignment on November 22, 1963 Sir: On November 22, 1963 at approximately 12:45 P.M., I heard from a Reserve Officer that the President had been shot. I checked with the dispatcher's office immediately and was informed that additional officers were needed at the Texas School Book Depos- itory building. Lieutenant Erich Kaminski and I arrived at the Texas School Book Depository building shortly after being informed of the need for additional officers. I was instructed by Chief Lumpkin, upon arrival, to proceed to the sixth floor. There I assisted in searching for additional evidence on this floor. Later, Chief Lumpkin put me in charge of a search team and instructed me to start on the roof and work down to the basement making a thorough and complete search of all floors. When this assignment was completed, I was relieved by Chief Lumpkin and told to report to my office. I received no further instructions and ended my tour of duty at the regular time. Respectfully submitted, 4/4 W. F. DYSON, Lieutenant Vice Section Special Servico Bureau WFD:bd Date A 15 3
