Ms. Tanya Komas
(b) (6)
Chico, California 95928
Dear Tanya,
It has been over a year since I have heard from you so I thought I would drop you a letter.
How is your dissertation going? As I was told when I did my dissertation, "There is only
one thing important about a dissertation, that it be finished." So I would also like to
encourage you to finish it, if it has not been completed. And I would like to offer any
assistance I might provide to you.
Here in Washington the Cherry Blossoms (very close to my office) have come and gone.
I have a book due out this summer, to be published by W.W. Norton, on Canals - an
illustrated history of early American canals. I am quite excited about that. It has been
my first experience to publish a book with an old line New York publisher and it has
been quite an experience. And it looks like I may have a publisher for two other history
books.
Hope you are doing well out there in California.
Sincerely,
Robert J. Kapsch
