Slept late. Spent the morning calling the office (President) and reading
newspapers -- waiting for the weather to clear. Also worked on party
lists with Mrs. Pickle.

With the President and the Pickles, departed Camp David via chopper.

Arrived at Andrews AFB; bid good-bye to the President who left to spend the
day in Connecticut. Then, departed Andrews via chopper.

Arrived on the South Grounds; went immediately to the Second Floor.
Worked with Ashton; then with Bess.

Went to Jean-Louis for shampoo & set. (Bess accompanied to Jean-Louis; then
returned to the White House alone.)

Left Jean-Louis with Liz and Cynthia Wilson (who had arrived in the meantime)
to visit Stewart Jr. High School, Lenox Elementary School (& Lenox Annex),
the Syphax School. (Kay Graham's school -- Ctj to dedicate plantings on
may 25th); and the Buchanan School -- work on it not yet begun.

Returned to the White House; Liz accompanied to the Second Floor.
Cleared the desk with Ashton.

To the Bowling Alley; bowled two games.

Returned to the Second Floor; after stopping by the Fish Room to chat with Senator
Dirksen who was waiting for an appointment with the President.
