With the President in his room. 10:10 To the Third Floor with the President to join Max Brooks and Juanita -- viewed LBJ Library model in the Doll Room. Returned to the Second Floor. 11:00 Greeted 50 Maryland Colonial Dames in the Diplomatic Reception Room. 11:12 Returned to the Second Floor -- reviewed for interview with Frances Lewine. Met with Liz and Frances Lewine in the Treaty Room. 1:30 Lunch with Liz and FLewine -- chicken & rice soup, roast beef, string beans, green salad). Frances Lewine left. Worked with Ashton. 3:00 Joined Mr. John Walker in the West Hall -- Mr. West came in a few minutes later -- I went with them, wheeling Charles Russell's "Meat for Wild Men" (bronze) around to find the best place to display it. 3:50 Returned to the Second Floor. Nap. 5:57 Left for Jean-Louis' shop for comb-out.
