JOHNSON, Daily Diary The White House Mrs. Johnson began her day at (Place) Date Monday, 20 November 1967 Entry No. Time Activity Breakfast. 10:37 Greeted members of the Jr. League in the East Lobby (they were here for movie & tour). 10:54 Left the White House with the President -- to the Department of Commerce -- population of the United States reached 2 million -- the President made a speech. 11:11 Returned to the White House with the President -- stopped off in the Rose Garden met with Mr. Williams' assistant. 11:15 Left the White House for Jean-Louis to have shampoo & set. 2:12 Returned to the White House. (In the meanwhile, the new bed had been moved into my room) 2:15 Sat with Madame Shoumatoff -- chose gown - - photos taken -- Mme. S. made an outline sketch -- will see her again tomorrow. 2:30 Worked at desk. 2:48 The President came over for lunch -- Ashton and I joined him. Worked at desk. 4:00 Bess came over -- went over wedding list -- re house guests, etc. 5:00 Met with Sec. freeman in the Lincoln Sitting Room re Library(LBg). (On my way to see him the President called me into his room for a few minutes) 5:20 Sec. Freeman left. 5:30 Met Sec. Wirtz in the Lincoln Sitting room re LBJ Library.
