JOHNSON, Daily Diary The White House Mrs. Johnson began her day at (Place) Date Friday, 13 December 68 Entry No. Time Activity 7:30 Breakfast. 8:15 Mr. per in for comb-out. 8:41 Left the White House via chopper. 8:47 Left Andrews AFB with the President and party for Chamizal. 10:47CST Arrived at Biggs AFB, El paso -- short arrival ceremony. 11:06 Left Boggs. 11:28 Arrived Santa 3e Bridge Helipad & took car to center of bridge to meet Pres/M Diaz-Ordaz -- all greeted crowds; Both Presidents spoke, then simultaneously pressed button that exploded barrier and changed the course of the Rio grande per Chamizal agreement. 12:42 Left the Chamizal bridge site. 12:46 Arrived at the Del Norte Hotel, El Paso to the second floor private rooms to freshen up. Then to lobby dining room for luncheon and toasts. 3:19 With the Diaz-Ordazes, returned to center of bridge to bid good-bye. 3:28 Left the bridge with the President took chopper to Biggs A3B. 3:42 Left Biggs via Jetstar. 5:47 Arrived LBG Ranch; toured Martin Ranch via car. 6:26 To the main house with the President. 8:10 Luci called; 8:27 Called Diana MacArthur; 8:46 Called Tony Taylor; 9:01 (dd Jim Dinner; signed Christmas pictures.
