On April 25, 1967, President Johnson was in Bad Godesberg, Germany to attend the funeral of former Chancellor Konrad Adenauer. In the morning President Johnson attended the Memorial Service for Chancellor Adenauer at the Bundestag. After the service, Johnson attended a luncheon for Chiefs of State and other dignitaries hosted by President Helmut Lemke of Germany. At the luncheon President Johnson spoke with President Charles de Gaulle of France and Prime Minister Tage Erlander of Sweden. After lunch Johnson traveled to the Cologne Cathedral in Cologne, Germany, to attend the Pontifical Requiem Mass for Adenauer. After the Mass and the reception which followed, Johnson met with Prime Minister Aldo Moro of Italy and his delegation. Following the meeting with Moro, Johnson met with Prime Minister Harold Wilson for bilateral talks.
