Ltr to Lt Col Partridgs, Report of Investigation at Three Rivers, Texas, 21 January 1949, Contd. and asked that I do so. Phen I called the Governor and explained the situation to him, he assured ne that he would take action at once. Judging from the attached clipping from the Houston Chronicle of Thursday, 20 January 1949 he apparently did so. There is also a political angle in this connection. In 1946 Mr. Gray ran for State Representative and Dr. Hector Carcia went all over the county talking against Mr. Gray who was defeated. In 1948 Mr. Gray ran again with Dr. Garcia/working against him but Mr. Gray whs elested this time. I give you this information in order that you may see another angle to the situation. I also an attaching a clipping from the Caller Times Yews of Corpus Christi where Senator Linden Johnson stated that he did not release the telegram to the press himself. The release was made by Dr. Garcia. I should also like to add to this that it ras necessary to make two calla to the Gonzales Funeral Home in Corpus Christi to have them pick up the remains of Pfc. Raymundo T. Salas who was consigned to that funeral home. Sgt. Boos, the escort, not allowed to sers the next of kin until Sunday before the funeral. If there is further information which you desire on the above matter, it is requested that you contact the undersigned. thing very truly floor yours EBAG 7LOORE ml Information Specialist 2 Incl's American Graves Registration Division SF of C1 ippings >> [3 of 3)
