COPY Jamury 19, 1949 Mt dear Friend: It was a very pleasant surprise to hear from you, and I deaply appreciated your heart- warming letter. It brightened this rainy Wash ington day a great deal for me. My part in the incident at Three Rivers was small, but I was proud to share in providing for Felix Longoria the decent Christian, American burial which his unselfish service deserves. It is reassuring to me to know that you foel as you do about my action, and with the support of friends like you, the words of critics can never hurt. If ever I can be of any service to you in any way here in Washington or back home in Texas, please do not hesitate to let mo know. With best wishes, Sincerely, Lyndon B. Johnson Mr. Saul 0. Paredes Agst. Superintendent of Money Orders U. S. Post Office E3 Paso, Texas HB/au nar - Felix Longoria [1 of 3
