Dear Mr. Johnson:
Allow me to compliment you on the assistance rendered the
widow of a Tezas hero, Felix Lengoria. The refusal of Three Rivers
funeral home to handle the body of Longoria on account of his
being of Mexican descent is a deplorable affair and I hope that
our good people of Texas are not judged by other states and by the
outside world and placed in the class of this one man.
Incidents of this kind do more to produce race hatred than
the patrictic citizen can live down in a long time.
Thanks for your happy solution in arranging for the burial of
this hero in Arlington National Cemetery with military honors.
A few months ago I supported you in the election but I am a
lot stronger Johnson man now.
